Science, technology, innovation – driving force for economic growth
Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh
The “ASEAN 4.0 for All” forum helps participants, especially young people, to discuss the future at a time when startup businesses are stimulating innovation to grasp the opportunities of Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Minister Anh said the revolution is having a dramatic effect on social life in Vietnam and many regional countries as well. He stressed that realizing the visions, challenges and opportunities of Revolution 4.0 is an effective and rapid way to choose national orientations and solutions to achieve breakthrough developments and bridge development gaps with other countries, while offering a chance for ASEAN’s young people to promote their creativity and capacity to turn challenges into opportunities and initiatives into products to achieve success during the innovative startup process.
Vietnam has largely completed the establishment of a national innovative startup ecosystem and has secured the initial domestic and foreign development sources to seize opportunities and actively deal with the impacts of the revolution.
At the forum, Minister Ngoc Anh urged participants to propose initiatives to boost cooperation among ASEAN nations and global partners with the aim of developing ASEAN into an innovative startup hub.
He affirmed that Vietnam desires cooperation with WEF and ASEAN and is willing to connect domestic businesses, and scientific, technological and innovative sources with ASEAN and global innovation support networks.
