Seize 8 containers of prohibited goods camouflaged plastic baskets

On 12/7, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch cooperated with Customs Enforcement Unit - HCMC Customs Department, C74 - Ministry of Public Security, Border of Nha Rong to inspect and detect 2 containers with full of used air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators ..., that in the list of prohibited import goods.

These are 2 of 8 prohibited cargo containers were named by Tri Nguyen Import-Export Commodity Logistics Co., Ltd (address at 3/4 Phan Van Su, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) for receiving goods. Earlier, on 11/7, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch also coordinated with competent forces to inspect and seize a container with full of prohibited goods of this company.

Based on the information from the previous inspect, the Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch collaborated with the Customs Enforcement Unit to inspect and discover 6 more containers that were imported by Tri Nguyen Import-Export Commodity Logistics Co., Ltd. Through the scanning image, it showed that all 6 containers are filled with prohibited goods. And the remaining 2 containers would be checked by Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch.

Besides the above 6 containers, on 8/6, 2017, at Cat Lai Port, Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch in coordination with the Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department - General Department of Vietnam Customs, Customs Enforcement Unit – HCMC Customs Department, Border of Nha Rong port inspected and discovered a container of used refrigerated that was imported by this business.

According to leaders of Customs Enforcement Unit - Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch, this shipment was named by Tri Nguyen Import-Export Commodity Logistics Co., Ltd. All of the shipments are declared as imported plastic basket.

According to the Customs Enforcement Unit, in order to detect the above-prohibited containers, Customs Enforcement Team of the Customs Branch has researched the dossier of shipment and discovered the shipment was moved around many countries before arriving Vietnam. In particular, those shipments were transported from Japan to Shenzhen (China), then shipped to a port in Hong Kong and transported to Cat Lai port (HCMC).
