Seized more than 80 tons of coal dust without dossiers

As a result of information from local residents about ship No. QN-1221 which was transporting coal (suspected as illegal origin) from Van Don sea area to Dam Ha –Quang Ninh for consumption, the control group – Customs Enforcement team 2 took action to inspect and arrest that vessel.
At 8 PM of November 5th, 2016 at the map coordinate 20002.040N; 107025.004E, the control group reached and inspected ship No. QN-1221. Then, they discovered insde the cargo hold more than 80 tons of coal dust.
According to the captain’s declaration – Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh ( from Cap Tien village, Dong Xa, Van Don ward, Quang Ninh Province), is the owner of ship QN-1221. On October 30th 2016, he drove the ship to Cap Tien area for buying 80 tons of coal dust from an unknown man with the total payment of 300.000 VND/ton. Then transporting to Dam Ha for sale because the coal was bought withput documents or invoice.
As there are signs of law violation in the case, the control group requested Mr. Thinh to transfer the vessel to lie at anchor in VINASHIN port, Hon Gai area Ha Long city, Quang Ninh for further investigation and judgement in accordance to law.
According to indentification document No. 16D01HQ4106-01 of November 7th 2016 of Vinacontrol Quang Ninh, the cargo is 80,05 tons of coal dust type 7C. The total value is about 46 million VND.
The control group under Customs Enforcement team 2 has made a record about administrative violation to Mr.Thinh and hold vessel, evident in custody for handling under the law.
