On May 4, 2017, Leaders of Customs Control Team (Cao Bang Customs Department) stated that the Team chaired and collaborated Division 2, Anti-smuggling Police Department C74 (Ministry of Public Security) to seize the case at Dinh Phung commune, Bao Lac district (Cao Bang).

Earlier, on 23 pm on April 18, 2014, the Working Team collaborated with the Customs Control Team and Division 2, C74 to assign forces to inspect and seize 2 cars with number plate 11C-02433 and 29C-26945. The inspection showed that the car number plate 11C-02433 carried 24,200 kg of scrap metal and the car number plate 29C-26945 carried 27,520 kg of scrap metal.

Two offenders who drove the cars confessed that they were hired to transport the volume of above scrap metal from the border area of Coc Pang commune, Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province to Thai Nguyen

To further investigate and verify the case, the Working Team continuously worked with other 5 individuals relating to the scrap metal shipment.

As declared by the related offenders, the above volume of scrap metal was collected from China and illegally transported to Vietnam, then transported to Thai Nguyen for consumption.

An officer of Cao Bang Customs Control Team acknowledged that the process of transporting the goods from China to Vietnam was closely monitored by the Customs force and seized at Dinh Phung commune, Bao Lac, district by the competent forces.

Basing on results from investigation, verification and statements of offenders, the Working Team made a violation minutes to transfer the Cao Bang Customs Department to issue a sanctioning decisions including: 2 drivers were fined 30million vnd per driver, 5 goods owners were fined 10 million vnd per owner; at the same time, the Customs authority imposed additional sanctions which were confiscating all infringing goods.
