This is the comment from the Chief of the Permanent Office of National Steering Committee 389, Dam Thanh The. He informed the press at the Press Conference on the results of the fight against smuggling, trade frauds and counterfeiting in 2017, and for those directions in 2018.
According to Dam Thanh The, in 2018, the ministries, sectors and localities continued to focus on preventing and driving back smuggling, trade frauds and counterfeit.
The National Steering Committee 389 provides a number of key tasks for ministries, sectors and localities to direct this work.
First of all, it is necessary to honestly and seriously evaluate the remaining aspects and limitations, such as in the forces development, professional skills and coordination. On that basis, the units must develop a 2018 work program in accordance with reality and nature of each force, so as to contribute to the improvement of management effectiveness.
For the implementation of work in 2018, the National Steering Committee 389 requested the forces to seriously and effectively implement the guidelines of the Government and the Prime Minister for the fight against smuggling. Particularly, Resolution No. 41, Directive No. 30 and the Specialized Fighting Plans (anti-smuggling of petroleum, production and trading of pesticides of poor quality).
The National Steering Committee 389 assigned ministries, branches and competent forces in the process of implementing tasks in a timely manner for researching, recommending, amending and supplementing regulations that are no longer relevant to the work. This is not allow smugglers to take advantage of the law to cause difficulties to the authorities.
From now to the Lunar New Year, the Ministries, branches and localities should have implemented the peak plan for combating smuggling and trade frauds during and after the Lunar New Year.
The National Steering Committee 389 assigned the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Defense and other specialized ministries to direct the following forces: Customs, Taxation, Market Management, Public Security Offices and specialized inspection agencies shall base themselves on their respective functions and tasks to fight and prevent smuggling, trade frauds and counterfeits.
At the same time, by the request of the Steering Committee 389, provinces and cities under the central to plan, are to direct the local forces to fight and prevention of smuggling.
In addition, in 2018, the National Steering Committee 389 required ministries, branches and localities to continue educating their political ideologies to grasp the view that there was no "prohibited area" in the fight against smuggling and trade fraud. At the same time, to concentrate on research and elaborating projects in remote and difficult areas, so that it could avoid subjects taking advantage of local people for transporting and joint handling of smuggling and illegal transport of goods.
