At a meeting with French Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary, President Quang urged the two countries to increase cooperation in infrastructure, high technology, energy, aviation, satellite, health care, and food processing. He said he hopes the new ambassador would contribute to heightening bilateral ties.

Canadian Ambassador Ping Kinikone and the Vietnamese State leader

Receiving Canadian Ambassador Ping Kinikone, the Vietnamese President stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral economic-trade-investment cooperation, saying they should be the focus of bilateral cooperation in the near future.

He asked Canada to provide Vietnam with technical support concerning the TPP agreement after the two countries’ parliaments approve it.

Qatari Ambassador presents the credentials to President Tran Dai Quang

Meeting Qatari Ambassador Mohamed Ismali Al Emadi, President Quang thanked Qatar for supporting Vietnam’s bid to become a member of the UNESCO Executive Council for 2015-2019 term and the UN Economic and Social Council in the 2016-2018 term.

He urged Qatar to support Vietnam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2020-2021 and recognize Vietnam’s full market economic status. Quang also suggested the two countries should further boost bilateral economic cooperation in the time ahead.

President Quang meets Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus Demetrios Theophylacton

President Quang told Cyprus Ambassador Demetrios Theophylacton that Vietnam treasures and wants to boost its friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Cyprus.

He hailed Cyprus’ support for Vietnam at international forums and urged it support Vietnam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 term and member of the UN International Law Commission (ILC).

The State leader urged Cyprus to back the ratification of and implementation of Vietnam’s free trade agreement with the EU and recognize Vietnam’s market economy. He suggested that both countries facilitate their businesses to establish partnership.

Abubacar Jal, Ambassador of the Republic of Gambia

At a reception for Abubacar Jal, Ambassador of the Republic of Gambia, President Quang asked for frequent delegation exchanges at all levels to deepen mutual understanding and expand bilateral cooperation to maritime economy and tourism.

Croatian Ambassador Kreso Glavac

While receiving Croatian Ambassador Kreso Glavac, Quang said Vietnam attaches importance to promoting relations with traditional friends, including Croatia. He called on Croatia to support Vietnam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 term, and member of the UN Universal Postal Union for the 2017-2021 term and the UN International Law Commission (ILC).

He stressed the need to push forward bilateral economic cooperation agreement and soon adopt an agreement to avoid double-taxation to boost bilateral economic cooperation.

Turkmenistan Ambassador Tajievna Rustamova

Meeting Turkmenistan’s Ambassador Tajievna Rustamova, the President said the two countries should enhance delegation exchanges to foster cooperation in footwear, garment and textile, agriculture, and fisheries.

He said he hopes Vietnam and Turkmenistan will work closely together at international organizations and forums.
