Stop a car transported 300 smuggled China mobile phones
The mobile phone was seized by Customs force. |
According to Quang Ninh Customs Department, on 14/5, after receiving information from Department of Crime Prevention of smuggling (C74 – Ministry of Public Security), Bac Phong Sinh Customs Branch arranged Customs force to arrest a person that have suspected signs of transporting mobile phones from China to Vietnam via Mong Cai city and cross Bac Phong Sinh area in order to 18A highway.
The Customs Enforcement Unit under Bac Phong Sinh Customs Branch coordinated to Border Station inspected a car with control plate BKS: 29B-076.72, detected inside trunk has 300 mobile phones which made in China, the language on the phone is Russian. The driver left the scene when Customs force and Border force inspected the car.
Through the verification, the working force identified the driver of the car was Mr Trinh Van Hai (lived in Hamlet 2, Quang Phong Village, Hai Ha District, Quang Ninh Province).
At 5:00PM on 17/5, Mr. Trinh Van Hai came to Customs agency to take responsibility and provide testimony. He confessed that those goods were bought from China and brought to Vietnam for consumption. Those goods did not have legal documents to prove its origin. The total value of the shipment is about 45 million vnd. The case has been handled in accordance with law by Bac Phong Sinh Customs Branch.
Earlier, on 7th July 2016, General Department of Customs issued a Decision 2034/QĐ-TCHQ to establish Customs Enforcement under Bac Phong Sinh Customs Branch in order to enhance State management of Customs in the Bac Phong Sinh Economic Zone.
