Specifically, in the first 7 months of 2018, Ho Chi Minh Tax department collected VND 22,477 billion from Personal Income Tax, increasing by 23.59% compared to the same period in 2017.
Of which, almost all the Personal Income Tax revenue from different sources significantly increased, the Personal Income Tax revenue from salary, wages increased by 20.7% compared to the same period in 2017. This is the highest revenue of total Personal Income Tax revenue (accounting for 77%).
The reason for the increase in the Personal Income Tax revenue is that over the past year, the Tax authorities have taken many measures to collect tax for individuals with income. Especially, the centralized tax administration system has improved the efficiency of revenue collection; the number of tax payers has significantly increased.

Over the past time, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department has reviewed and collected Personal Income Tax arrears from individuals and organizations that have income from foreign websites but they have not declared and paid tax. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Tax department has sent more than 13,000 invitations to more than 15,000 e-commerce website owners requesting to work with the tax authorities to declare and implement tax payment in accordance with regulations.
