To strengthen the inspection and supervision of imported goods in transit via airports and especially imported goods in transit which are not unloading at the port where the aircraft enters and were transported by that aircraft to the destination port as stated on the bill of lading, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requested the units perform a number of tasks.
Based on the classification of key entry flights according to the provisions in Decision 200/QD-TCHQ dated August 24, 2015 and Decision 3280/QD-TCHQ dated September 30, 2016 of the Director General of Vietnam Customs, the units must arrange customs officials to supervise the process of loading cargo from aircraft to the airport. If necessary, they should check the cargo hold of aircraft to make sure no imported goods are left on the aircraft and especially aircraft used for deploying domestic connecting flights should be noted.
At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen arrangement of customs officials to inspect and supervise declaration contents related to independent transportation of goods in transit and transfer of ports loaded into the air cargo warehouses.
Requesting airlines to notify customs branches for managing the flight number of domestic flights and the estimated time of landing to arrange supervision.
