Fresh impetus

Vietnam is capable of achieving a higher GDP growth rate than the set target of 6% in 2021, providing it accelerates reforms and draws up proper plans for economic recovery in the post-COVID-19 period, according to economist Nguyen Dinh Cung, former Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management.

The business community anticipates that the government will provide greater assistance to the supporting industry through the creation of more effective policies to boost trade promotion activities.

2017 was a successful year for Vietnam boasting many new economic records with GDP rising to 6.81% in 2017 - the highest figure the country has recorded over the past ten years.
