Tay Ninh: An intercity bus with reinforced shell in the air conditioner for hiding 350 packs of smuggled cigarettes

Smuggled cigarettes were seized by competent force.

Earlier, on 3/5, at the entrance gate of the Moc Bai border gate for means of transport, the Moc Bai Customs Branch coordinated with Moc Bai Border Control Station to inspect the intercity bus transporting from Cambodia to Vietnam. It was driven by Pal Channtha with Cambodian passport, where they discovered 350 packs of white Jet cigarettes (unknown origin of production).

All the above goods were camouflaged by reinforcing the inside of the rear of the car, enclosed carefully in order to hide those cigarettes by Mr. Pal Channtha.

Through a primary confession, Mr Pal Channtha said he bought those cigarettes at Phnom Penh with the total price of 5.5 million VND to bring back to Vietnam.

Considering the behavior of Mr. Pal Channtha in violation of regulations in the Customs Enforcement, the Moc Bai Customs Branch has established records of administrative violations and confiscated all infringing goods for handling in accordance with the law.
