The Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department collected Tax arrears and fines of over 3,000 billion vnd from inspection and auditing

In 2016, the Department inspected and audited 19,609 businesses, increasing by nearly 9% compared to the same period in 2015, Tax arrears and fines reached 3,036 billion vnd, reduced loss of 11,491 billion vnd, reduced 348 billion vnd of VAT deduction.
In which, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department inspected 141,727 tax dossiers at the Tax office, increasing by 11% compared to the same period last year. The additional and fixed Tax amount was 71 billion vnd. The Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department also inspected at business over 18,000 businesses with an amount of 1,883 billion vnd, reducing the loss of 5,469 billion and VAT deduction of 178 billion vnd.
Together with the inspection, in 2016, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department audited 1,604 Tax dossiers with the tax arrears and fines of 1,082 billion vnd, reducing the loss of 6,022 billion vnd, and VAT deduction of 170 billion vnd.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, in 2016, the inspection and auditing increased on the amount (up nearly 9%) but the Tax arrears and fines from inspection and auditing reduced compared to the same period last year (down nearly 22%). The reason is that the Department strengthened to direct the implementation of inspection and auditing after VAT refund and dissolved enterprises. Besides, the compliance with the law of businesses is also improved.
