Tackle drug gangs with many guns

According to the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes, the department worked with the Customs and Border Guard forces to successfully tackle drug gangs at the end of June. Three large-scale drug gangs were tackled at the end of June.

On June 30, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes coordinated with units under the Ministry of Public Security, the Police of District 12 of Ho Chi Minh city, the Southern Anti-Smuggling and Drug Enforcement Unit under the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Team 3 of the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention under the High Command, and Border Guard to tackle aspecial case and arrest Tran ThanhPhong (born in 1967, residing in August Revolution Street, Ward 7, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City), and seized 0.5kg of ice drugs and some related evidence.

After arresting Phong, the working team arrested five suspects and inspected the whereabouts of five suspects in HCM City, including Nguyen Hop Toan (born in 1975); To Hoai Đuc (born in 1988); Pham Minh Sang (born in 1987); Nguyen Thi Dieu Hien (born in 1994); Phan Thi Xuan (born in 1977), seized 5.5 kg of methamphetamine, six guns, 23 bullets, one grenade, one stun gun, four swords, three cars and other pieces of evidence.

On June 20, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes coordinated with units under the Ministry of Public Security, HCM City Police, the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department and the special task team on prevention of drug-related crimes No. 3 under the Coast Guard Command to arrest Do Tuan Bao (born in 1984, residing in District 6, HCM City) and seize 10,000 synthetic drugs.

At the same time, the team arrested Vo Quoc Hoa (born in 1993, residing in O Mon district, Can Tho) and seized 45kg of ice drugs and 8,000 pills of synthetic drugs. Inspecting Hoa’s whereabouts, the team seized 8kg of synthetic drugs.

Expanding investigationsintothe case, competent forces arrested perpetrators, including Le Quang Truong (born in 1983, residing in district 10, HCM City), Nguyen Cong Nhat (born in 1978, residing in district 10, HCM City and Nguyen Van Phuong (born in 1990, residing in Binh Hung Hoa A, Binh Tan district). Inspecting Phuong's whereabouts, the forces seized 300g of ice drugs, 200 synthetic drugs and 1 CZ75 gun and five bullets.

Arrested gangs related drug crimes

With the policy of arresting all drug gangs and perpetrators, units under the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes, the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department actively monitored area and applied specialised measures and coordinated with local customs departments to tackle many gangs related drug crimes and perpetrators.

On June 29, on Vo Van Kiet Street, located in Kim Chung Commune, Dong Anh District, HCM City, the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes coordinated with units under the Ministry of Public Security, the Coast Guard Command and the Northern Anti-Smuggling and Drug Enforcement Unit under the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the Police of Dong Anh District to arrest three suspects illegally transporting drugs, including Thao A Gau (born in 1990); Lau A Vu (born in 1998); Ha A Nu (born in 1998, all three ssuspects reside in Phi Nhu commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province); seized 54 heroin packetsand many related documents.

Expanding the investigation, the working team arrested two more suspects, namelySung A Cua (born in 1990, residing in Phi Nhu commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province) andGiang A So (born in 1983, residing in Na Hi commune, Nam Po district, Dien Bien province). Giang A So wasthe perpetrator of the gang.

On June 30, the working team implemented the arrest warrant and emergency search for Nong Van Hai (born in 1984, residing in Thong Hue commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province). Inspecting Hai’s whereabouts, the team seized two guns, seven bullets and otherrelated evidence.

TheInvestigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes is working with police of local units to arrest suspects in drug trafficking gangs and strictly handle them.
