Transporting and using firecrackers illegally tends to increase

Firecrackers made in China and Thailand
According to General Department of Market Management, through inspection, control and preventing trading, illegal transport, storage and the use of firecrackers, the Market Management force has signed the commitment to not commit any acts of violation on firecrackers with 61,000 organisations and businesses having risk of violations relating to firecrackers.
Market management forces in many localities have discovered and handled many cases of transporting, trading and storing firecrackers.
On December 27, 2020, the Lang Son Market Management Department worked with the authorities at Doc Quyt Integrated Control Station to detect and seize 400 kg of smuggled firecrackers.
On January 13, 2021, Bac Ninh Market Management Department coordinated with Bac Ninh Provincial Police to sieze 200 kg of firecrackers which were transported on National Highway 1A from Lang Son inland for consumption.
Due to the market management forces of provinces and cities, the situation of violation relating to firecrackers has been restrained and prevented, people's awareness of law obedience has been raised and accidents relating to firecrackers have reduced significantly, contributing to ensuring the security and order and stabilising the socio-economic development of Vietnam.
However, the situation of violating firecrackers laws still develops and the number of cases of violations tends to be higher than the previous year.
Compared to previous years, the situation of exploding firecrackers illegally is mainly occurred at northern delta, northern central delta. However, it tended to spread to central, Central Highlands and southeast provinces.
Illegally buying, selling, storing and transporting firecrackers mainly takes place in the northern border provinces bordering China and north-central provinces that have a border with Laos.
Popular firecrackers are produced in China and Thailand. The subjects crossed the border to buy and illegally transport into Vietnam by road or sea.
Coordinate to communicate
The General Department of Market Management forecasted that the production, trading, transporting, and storing of firecrackers will potentially be more sophisticated, cunning, and tend to increase.
Therefore, through inspection and control of the market, the Market Management force proposed authorities advise the Government to consider, amend and supplement legal documents to overcome difficulties and shortcomings, meeting State management requirements on management and use of firecrackers.
At the same time, closely follow instruction documents of the Government, ministries and sectors on the management and use of firecrackers to strictly and effectively coordinate for inspection and handling of violations relating to firecrackers.
Market management forces of provinces and cities should continue to grasp the situation, advise the Party committees and authorities at all levels to direct and mobilise the entire political system and people to implement legal documents on the management and use of firecrackers.
In particular, focusing on communication, dissemination and guidance on legal regulations on management and use of firecrackers; closely coordinate with competent agencies and press and television agencies in implementing various forms and contents of measures, communication in a diverse, rich and extensive way to villages, hamlets and residential groups, residential clusters and organisations to sign commitments.
