On August 26, 2016, at the headquarters of Lang Giang Police (Bac Giang Province), the Northen Anti-Smuggling Team, Region 1 (under the Customs Investigation and Anti-Smuggling Department, the General Department of Vietnam Customs) coordinated with Lang Giang Police to carry out physical inspections and classifications of goods transported by two Chinese trucks from Lang Son to Hanoi.
The team leader of Team 1 said, at dawn on August 25, 2016, Team 1 cooperated with Traffic Police Division (PC 67) and Lang Giang Police (Bac Giang) to detect and seize two trucks carrying goods originating from China.
Working with the authorities, the shippers and carriers presented a bill of sale (not Value added tax invoice). However, there were many items in the bill not consistent with the actual goods at the time of inspection.
Due to the large amount of goods transported on two vehicles, the Customs forces and the police took two days to complete the inspection and classification of goods.
At the place of inspection, a Customs Newspaper reporter found that the majority of transported goods were consumer goods such as clothing, shoes, socks, household electrical appliances, which mainly originated from China.
Notably, there were pharmaceutical products branded "Dewey White". In fact, "Dewey White" is a Japanese skin whitening product. However, this kind of goods seized by Customs and the police originated from China, which could be counterfeiting goods made in China.
Currently, the authorities temporarily seized the goods to investigate, verify and clarify the nature and charateristics of this case.

The team leader of Team 1 said, many perpetrators took advantage of preferential policies for the sale of goods at the border areas to transport illegal goods from China and then used the legitimized bill of sale to deal with the functional authorities, which caused many difficulties for the forces to handle.
