The man was then transported to a police hospital in Da Nang and later sample tests by the Nha Trang Pasteurs Institute proved he had contracted the novel coronavirus.
At present Da Nang has four COVID-19 patients, including two travellers from the UK and a Vietnamese getting infection from the two travellers.
Vietnam has so far recorded 68 cases of COVID-19 infection, of which 16 cases have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital. Most of the cases have come from Europe and the US.
The patients, but two, are in stable health condition, according to health authorities.
