The Investigation Police Agency (Thuy Nguyen District Police) issued a decision to prosecute Truong Thi Hoan (born 1985, lives in Thang Loi village, Hao Phu commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province) for the act of "cheating to obtaining property", according to information from Hai Phong Police on December 1.

On August 24, Thuy Nguyen district police received a report from Dao Thi Hoa, (was born in 2001, lives in Thuy Duong commune, Thuy Nguyen district) about being cheated by a Facebook account user "Trang Lùnn" to obtain property in the form of exchanging Vietnam Dong for Yuan (Chinese currency).

A Ms. Hoa transferred VND 20 million to an account named "Truong Thi Hoan" at a commercial bank to exchange for 6,000 yuan, but the user of the Facebook account "Trang Lùnn" did not transfer foreign currency.

After receiving the report, the Criminal Police Team (Thuy Nguyen District Police) verified and investigated.

The police agency determined the owner of a Facebook account "Trang Lùnn" was Truong Thi Hoan (born in 1985, lives in Thang Loi village, Hao Phu commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province).

At the investigative agency, Truong Thi Hoan confessed that, in August, due to shortage of money, she opened a Facebook account named "Trang Lùnn" and Zalo account "Nha Xe Uy Tin Trong Lam". It aimed to obtain money from people who ask for money exchange by posting information of money exchange (from VND to Yuan) via social networks.

On August 21, Hoa used her Facebook account named "Dao Thi Hoa" and Zalo account "Thanh Hoa" to send messages to Hoan's Facebook and Zalo accounts to exchange 20 million VND for 6,000 Yuan.

Hoan agreed and asked Hoa to transfer VND 20 million to her bank account.

However, after receiving the money, Hoan blocked Hoa and deleted Zalo account and Facebook account.

The money was use for personal expenditures by Hoan.

The case is continued to investigate by the investigation police agency (Thuy Nguyen district police) and strictly handled in accordance with regulations.
