Vietnam desires closer ties with Kazakhstan

At a reception for Secretary of the Nur Otan Party Central Committee K.B. Zhumasev in Hanoi on November 21, Ty highlighted the visit as a significant contribution to developing the relations between the two nations’ political parties.
He applauded the Nur Otan Party’s role in the political system of Kazakhstan and expressed his confidence that that under the leadership of the party, Kazakhstan will grow and flourish in the time ahead.
The Vietnamese official said that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always keep in mind the valuable support and assistance the former Soviet Union countries, including Kazakhstan, have given to Vietnam during its past struggles for national independence and unification as well as current national development, adding that Vietnam sticks importance to reinforcing the traditional friendship with Kazakhstan.
The cooperation between the Vietnamese and Kazakhstani legislatures has been constantly developed, both bilaterally and multilaterally, as evidenced by the frequent exchange of high-level delegations from parliamentary committees.
Ty said he hopes that the Nur Otan Party leaders will back the enhancement of closer and effective collaboration between the two countries’ legislative bodies.
In reply, K.B. Zhumasev described Vietnam as an important partner of Kazakhstan in the Southeast Asian region in terms of economics and politics.
As both nations share a lot of similarities, thus enabling them to further step up cooperation and sharing of experience in lawmaking, supervision and deciding on major national issues, he noted.

Receiving the Kazakhstani official on the same day, Politburo member and Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Vo Van Thuong said Vietnam has always valued its traditional friendship with Kazakhstan, as well as the Nur Otan Democratic People’s Party, while hoping that Kazakhstan will reap greater success in its national construction and development under the leadership of the ruling Nur Otan Party and President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Thuong, also head of the CPVCC’s Popularisation and Education Commission, held that the Nur Otan Party delegation visit and the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the CPV will help boost development in the parties’ political ties and provide a foundation for both sides to augment bilateral cooperation in the coming time.
For his part, Zhumasev said that his nation pays attention to the development of the traditional friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, showing a desire that the MoU will further promote relations between the two parties and nations in future.
At a meeting with Hoang Binh Quan, member of the CPVCC and head of its Commission on External Relations, the two sides informed each other about the current situation in their respective nations and compared notes on global issues of shared concern and ways to expand ties between the two parties and countries, and the development of youths.
After the meeting, they signed a MoU on cooperation between the two parties.
Also on November 21, the delegation was received by Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi’s Party Committee, during which they discussed cooperation between Hanoi and Astana, as well as measures to boost municipal cooperation in future.
