Vietnam, Mongolia look for ways to further boost ties
The Vietnamese PM said Vietnam treasures and wants to boost its multifaceted cooperation with Mongolia, and believed that Mongolia would successfully host the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting.
The two PMs said they hoped to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields to meet the aspirations of both peoples and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
They agreed to increase political trust and mutual understanding through exchanges of delegations and visits. Vietnam asked Mongolia to take in more Vietnamese laborers.
Both emphasized the need to maintain peace, stability, freedom and safety of navigation and aviation in the East Sea and the peaceful settlements of disputes in the East Sea in line with international law including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
They agreed on the importance of fully implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea and soon finalize the Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea.
After the talks, the two Prime Minister witnessed the signing of a cooperative agreement between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mongolian Employers' United Association.
Speaking at a press conference after the talk, PM Phuc said, “I and the Mongolian Prime Minister discussed various issues. Mongolia and Vietnam supported each other at regional and global forums, and enhance cooperation between Mongolia and ASEAN to ensure peace, freedom of aviation and navigation in the region.
Vietnam and Mongolia will strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, mining and footwear. The two countries will increase the exchanges of students and educate the younger generations about the two countries. Vietnam and Mongolia will import and export products from both sides".
The Mongolian Prime Ministers highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Phuc’s visit, saying it opened a new page in their countries’ bilateral relationship.
On the same day, Prime Minister Phuc met with Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbergdoj.
The Mongolian President said his nation highly values Vietnam’s position and role in the region, said who held that Vietnam’s success in its national construction and development has enhanced the country’s prestige in the world arena.
The Vietnamese cabinet leader hailed Mongolia’s economic achievements over the past years, declaring that Vietnam sees Mongolia as an important partner in the region.
He expressed hope that the traditional ties between the two countries will grow effectively in the future, meeting the expectations of their people and contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
The Government leader said he believes Mongolia will successfully organise the upcoming 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit.
Reviewing recent progress in bilateral relations recently, both sides pledged to further boost their cooperation in a broad array of fields.
The two leaders consented to maintain high-level exchanges as well as boost coordination between ministries, sectors and localities, especially in the organisation of the 16th meeting of the Vietnam-Mongolia Inter-Governmental Committee on economy, trade, science and technology in September this year.
They concurred that ministries and sectors of both sides should work harder together to seek measures to bolster bilateral trade. Vietnam will import quarantined processed meat from Mongolia , while Mongolia will buy Vietnam ’s agriculture and electronic products.
The leaders also pledged to create a favourable environment for businesses of both sides to increase their partnerships, while strengthening people-to-people contacts, especially among the youth, and so introducing each other’s traditional culture and fostering bilateral ties.
Both sides also exchanged notes on the regional and world situation as well as matters of shared concern, including the East Sea issue. They agreed to cooperate with and support each other at international and regional forums
The two leaders concurred to increase bilateral trade and step up bilateral cooperation at regional and global forums.
