Vietnam named among top five countries for international flow of trade
This information was released by the Global Connectedness Index 2020 - GCI 2020 which was produced by DHL Company in partnership with the Stern School of Business under the New York University.
The report outlines how the country has developed into a strong competitor to China in terms of producing garments and textiles, especially high-tech products.
Shoeib Reza Choudhury, general director of DHL-VNPT Express, described the nation as one of the most attractive destinations for foreign businesses seeking to persify their production facilities.
Indeed, an array of international firms remain very keen to make the most of the country’s young and skilled workforce, along with the signing of several free trade agreement (FTAs) such as the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), and the country’s social stability.
Choudhury revealed that an increasing number of hi-tech companies and fashionable garment enterprises are in the process of planning to move to the nation or expand their production capacity within the country.
He therefore expressed his belief that the nation will continue to contribute to the development of global trade, adding that DHL will continue to make further investments locally moving forward.
