During the meeting, the Japanese guest told his host that around 1,000 delegates who are parliamentary and government officials and business representatives from Japan led by Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party and Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Nikai Toshihiro are set to visit Vietnam in January next year.
They will meet with Vietnamese Government and National Assembly agencies and the Vietnamese business community in central city of Danang, he added. He said he hopes that the Vietnamese Government will offer optimal conditions to speed up the Vietnam-Japan University construction project as a contribution to fostering bilateral cooperation in education and training.
Deputy PM Hue expressed his appreciation for the role of Tsutomu in boosting trade and investment between Vietnam and Japan over the past years. Welcoming the forthcoming visit to Vietnam by Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party and Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Nikai Toshihiro, Hue said the Prime Minister has assigned the Foreign Ministry and concerned localities to make careful preparations for the trip.
Regarding the proposal to build Vietnam-Japan University, he said the Vietnamese Government hopes that the project will become a symbol in the Vietnam-Japan ties in general and in education and training cooperation in particular.
Hue said he will ask Vietnam National University to finalize a report on building the project using Japan’s ODA and a special finance mechanism regarding the education establishment to submit it to the Government for consideration.
Host and guest also consented to push ahead with stronger cooperation in trade, investment and human resources development and promote experience sharing and technology transfer in agriculture in the time to come.
