Smuggling cigarettes are carried with "hot goods"

In addition to local objects, there are now many other people from other provinces such as Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, HCMC using cars across the Cambodian border to transport smuggled cigarettes. These people often take people to Cambodia to gamble and return to "take advantage of" transporting illegal cigarettes. To be against the relevant force, the object was armed with weapons and supporting tools to escape.

On the first day of November, at 22 o'clock, patrols of My Quy Tay - Long An border guard station inspected and discovered 7-seater car with number plates 62A - 186.54 transporting smuggled goods. Through inspection, Border Guard forces detected in the car carrying illegally imported cigarettes in large quantities, nearly 12,000 packages. It is worth mentioning that the objects have "equipped" with a spray 110ml spray, 3 homemade knives, 1 iron tube and another license plate in Dong Nai province. The two claimants named Vu Minh Toan (SN 1989), living in Tan Phu and Nguyen Truong Son districts (SN 1995), live in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province.

In Tay Ninh province, in October 2018, the Economic Police Department of Tay Ninh province has arrested 4 objects carrying guns, transporting 14,400 illegal imported cigarettes. At that time, the police arrested two subjects, Le Anh (born 1985) and Nguyen Tuan Anh (born in 1989), who were living in Voi hamlet, An Thanh commune, Ben Cau district were driving the car of 4 seats with license number 65A-101.12, going ahead is the truck with number plate 54X-6148 to watch police force. In prison for smuggling of cigarettes

On November 22, the People's Court of Ben Cau district opened a trial hearing accused Huynh Thanh Ha (36 years old, based in Binh Duong province) about transporting smuggled cigarettes and sentenced Huynh Thanh Ha to 6 years in prison. Cancellation of 12,500 bags of illegal cigarettes and a fine of over VND 150 million for vehicles transporting smuggled goods.

According to the announced indictment at the hearing, late June 21, in Chanh hamlet, An Thanh commune, Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh police inspected and detected the cars No. 70A-251.46 driven by Huynh Thanh Ha driver to carry 12,500 bags of cigarettes of all kinds. Both objects and the car were temporarily held to handle. Through investigation, Ha Khai admitted transporting the number of cigarettes from the border of Tho Mo (Duc Hue district, Long An province) to Thu Dau Mot city, In order to not be detected by relevant forces; Ha mounted the fake number plate 70A-251.46 overlap the real number plate of cars 61A-262.98 to transport smuggled cigarettes. Considering that Ha's behaviour is dangerous to society and has violated the economic management order of the State. The trial court sentenced Huynh Thanh Ha to 6 years in prison, confiscated 12,500 bags of illegal cigarettes and fined more than 150 million VND for the transportation of smuggled goods as mentioned above.

Previously, in October, the Ben Cau District People's Court also opened a trial of accused Nguyen Dang Tanh (51 years old, based in Ho Chi Minh City) on charges of transporting prohibited goods (illegal cigarettes) counterfeit materials of agencies and organizations. According to the indictment, at around 19:00 AM on May 11, while patrolling, the police of Tay Ninh Police has discovered that Nguyen Dang Tanh was driving cars with number 51F-630.96 from Ben Cau district to Ho Chi Minh City with suspected signs, so the police have pursued this car. At Tram Vang hamlet 1, Thanh Phuoc commune, Go Dau district, the patrol team asked to stop inspecting, detecting that there are 5,700 packs of cigarettes of all kinds on the car. Through the investigation, Tanh reported that the above-mentioned cigarettes were transported at Moc Bai international border gate (Loi Thuan commune, Ben Cau district) to An Suong intersection, HCM City) with a salary of 1.5 million. In order to avoid the related forces, Nguyen Dang Tanh also uses fake documents (driver's license) deceiving agencies or organizations involved when working. Considering that Tanh's behaviour is dangerous to society violates the economic and administrative management order of the State, the Trial Panel has sentenced to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment; Arresting and destroying 5,700 bags of cigarettes and papers.

Authorities also charged 49 cases with 56 smugglers, illegally transporting goods across the border, transporting prohibited goods. As a result, the situation of smuggling and transportation of illegal cigarettes will still be complicated, especially during the Tet holidays.
