When will Covid-19 vaccine fund be closed?

At the conference, Deputy General Director of the State Treasury Tran Thi Hue said that as of 5:00 pm on January 5, the total Covid-19 Vaccine fund was VND 10,682.8 billion. This was the donation amount of 691,142 organizations and individuals.
The expenditure from the fund was VND7,672.2 billion, including VND 7,667.6 billion for buying and using vaccines; VND4.6 billion for researching and testing vaccines. On January 5, the fund balance was VND3, 010.6 billion.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Hue, the State Treasury is still collecting and spending the fund in line with the provisions of Circular 41/2022/TT-BTC. This work will be publicized widely.
Regarding the question of closing the fund, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi said that the Covid-19 pandemic has not yet ended, so the fund still operates normally. The fund will receive donations from domestic and foreign individuals and organizations and will spend it on buying and researching in accordance with regulations.
“When the Covid-19 pandemic ends and is announced by the competent authority, the Ministry of Finance will propose the Government and competent authorities to close the Fund and handle the remaining balance,” Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi said.
At the press conference, leaders of the Ministry of Finance also informed about the management of gasoline prices.
Accordingly, the competent authorities revised Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP on the trading of petroleum products. As per current regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is in charge of administering the price of petroleum products. The Ministry of Finance said that the management of petroleum product prices should be performed by a ministry.
“Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has managed the prices effectively. Although global prices surge and fluctuate, the domestic price has been managed smoothly and effectively,” said Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi.
