In the first day of re-opening customs clearance for imported and exported goods after an interruption due to the China’s suspension for trading goods to prioritise the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic at Tan Thanh border gate, Tan Thanh Customs worked with the authorities at the border gate to carry out clearance procedures for 11 vehicles of fresh dragon fruit. 10 vehicles and drivers returned to Vietnam (one vehicle is still loading and unloading on the Chinese side).
During the day, the branch also made procedures for four vehicles on exit to China to transport goods to Vietnam and three of them completed their entry procedures and moved inland. So far, there are currently 18 vehicles waiting for customs clearance to China at the cargo warehouse at the border gate

According to Lan, on the first day of re-opening the customs clearance, the unit coordinated with authorities to strictly supervise and control customs clearance process. Therefore, goods, vehicles and drivers are cleared conveniently while ensuring strict disease control process of the concerned border agencies of the both sides
As recorded at Tan Thanh border gate on this first day, 100 percent of all vehicles met the conditions of sale contracts; Vietnamese cargo vehicles were disinfected and complied with the commitment to return immediately after finishing loading and unloading of goods; operators of vehicles used protective clothing and wore masks and did not get out of the vehicles.
Lan said the re-opening of Tan Thanh border not only reduces pressure on Huu Nghi international border gate but also increases the country's export capacity of agricultural products to the Chinese market.
However, the Chinese side said customs clearance had not been implemented for border residents, so Tan Thanh Customs has been strengthening information for businesses, farmers, small traders that there is not a sale contract between the two parties, they should not bring goods to the border gate to avoid losses of parking fees, travel fees and time and reduction in goods quality.
Nguyen Cong Truong, Vice Chairman of Lang Son People's Committee said that to get the above results, Lang Son province has applied many creative solutions, while strengthening dialogues with Chinese agencies while urging and directing the implementation of epidemic prevention measures at the border with the motto of enhancing customs clearance capacity but ensuring elimination of risks of epidemic infection
According to statistics from Lang Son Customs Department, on February 19, Huu Nghi Customs completed customs clearance 204 exported agricultural vehicles, mainly fresh fruits, electronic components, masks, machines and garments; completed import procedures for 158 vehicles of electronic components, pears, onions, garlic, mushrooms, machinery and forklifts. Thus, from February 5 to the end of February 19, Huu Nghi Customs had conducted customs clearance for more than 2,300 vehicles with 98 percent of agricultural products, estimated at over 33,000 tonnes. Of some 2,300 vehicles that have been cleared, over 1,000 vehicles carried mainly imported electronic components and production materials of Samsung Company. At present, Huu Nghi international border gate, there are still 339 vehicles of agricultural products, mainly jackfruit, dragon fruit, longan and chilli. At Chi Ma border gate, there are still five cars awaiting export, including one vehicle of jelly that have been refused by China, one vehicle of pepper, two vehicles of dried figs and one vehicle of cuttlefish. At Dong Dang international railway station, 37 carriages of dragon fruit and iron ore have been cleared and there are still vehicles waiting for import procedures; at Coc Nam border gate, there are 10 vehicles waiting for export, including peanuts, groceries, cowhide and cosmetics |
