12 steel projects removed from the plan

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the first draft decree approving the adjustment of the steel production system planby 2025 and orientation toward2035 issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade has received many comments from some relevant ministries and units as well as localities in the planning region.
After editing in accordance with the comments, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the second draft to get the comments of agencies, organizations, businesses and domestic and foreign citizens to continue to edit and complete the plan. Accordingly, 12 projects have been removed from the first draft. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, 12 projects have been removed due to requests for removal of the localities, lack of investors, unqualified investors and projects out of the planning scope, insufficient material resource or refusal for implementation of the investors.
These 12 projects include: Lao Cai steel billet plant; ThienThanh cast iron production plant; Investment project of Vietnam Minerals Iron and Steel complex; Ha Giang steel plant; Son La cast iron and steel billets plant; Bac Kan sponge iron and steel plant; High-quality steel rolling by Vietnam Kyoei Steel Company Ltd. as an investor; Vietnam-Italia Steel Plant stage 2; Quảng Bình cast-iron and steel plant; HK Steel and CLC Steel plant with 2 stages; Expanding project of Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel joint stock company stage 3; and Hau Giang Steel plant with 2 stages.
Total planned design capacity of the 12 projects was over 1,350 tons of cast iron, sponge iron and 6,520 square steel billets per year.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade still continues to get comments from agencies, organizations, enterprises and domestic and foreign citizens to edit and complete the planning.
