According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in 2019, the whole sector continued expanding the VASSCM system in order to promote administrative reform and trade facilitation toward the Government’s policy. Also, in 2019, the VASSCM system was deployed at 33 of 35 provincial customs departments.
In particular, the system has been deployed at airport terminal managed by Hanoi Customs Department with three warehouse enterprises. It has been deployed for 251 enterprises operating seaports, warehouses and yards managed by 30 customs departments with 77 customs branches. At bonded warehouses, the system has been deployed for 160 enterprises managed by 22 customs departments with 56 customs branches in the whole country.
Relating to customs modernisation, the General Department of Vietnam Customs continued expanding e-payments.
In 2019, the number of commercial banks coordinating with the General Department of Vietnam Customs to collect revenue was 42. Of those, 29 banks participated in e-payment of tax and clearance 24/7.
The amount of tax collected electronically was VND338,688 billion, accounting for nearly 97 percent of the total revenue collection of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Remarkably, at the end of 2019, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has implemented the programme of enterprise request for collection.
Thus, enterprises could apply three methods of import and export tax payment: Direct payment at the bank, electronic tax payment 24/7, participating in the programme of enterprise request for collection.
Thereby, the proportion of import-export enterprises implementing e-tax payments via banks reached nearly 100 percent.
