After merging, operations at Hon Gai Customs run smoothly

Through the communications of Customs Branch, in general, enterprises operating import – export activities through the management area have grasped policies of the Customs Branch after merging. Thus, all procedures on the automatic clearance systems have been processed smoothly.

Earlier, on November 29, Quang Ninh Customs Department held a ceremony to announce the decision of merging Hon Gai Port Customs Branch and Cai Lan Port Customs Branch into Hon Gai port Customs Branch under Quang Ninh Customs Department.

The merging the two Customs Branch into one Customs Branch under Quang Ninh Customs Department was implemented on the basis of not increasing the clue, ensuring requirements of State management of customs and saving payroll, headquarters, existing infrastructure, equipment of the units.

Specifically, Hon Gai port Customs Branch is organised into four units including General Affairs Team, Duty Management Team, Customs Techniques Team, Customs Supervision and Enforcement Team with a total 78 customs officials and employees.

The consolidation of two customs branches has reduced one clue at the branch level and one clue at the team level, saving seven customs officials compared to before the consolidation.

Regarding the operation area, Hon Gai port Customs Branch performs State management of customs in ​​five cities, districts and towns within a radius of 100 km including Ha Long City, Uong Bi City, Hoanh Bo district, Quang Yen town and Dong Trieu town.

Besides that, the department also manages six terminals of type I of Quang Ninh port including: Cai Lan Container and General port, B12 Petroleum Terminal, Ha Long Shipyard Port, Hon Gai Passenger Port, Specialised bulk port of Ha Long cement plant, Specialised bulk port of Thang Long cement plant; managing four industrial zones; managing four duty-free shops, two bonded warehouses and 30 inspection locations at the foot of constructions and production facilities.

With diversified forms of customs management such as export and import goods, industrial zone, duty-free shops, bonded warehouses, export processing, temporary import and re-export and transit.
