Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department has also strictly followed the guiding documents and directions of the General Department of Customs on supporting customs clearance of goods for Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control such as allowing businesses to delay submission of the certificate of origin and submit the certificate of origin online during the pandemic and not imposing administrative penalties for enterprises affected by the pandemic.
In addition, the department has applied information technology and used modern inspection and monitoring equipment to meet the requirements of convenient and fast customs clearance and regularly focused on reviewing and ensuring stable operation of the systems.

Capturing and exploiting advantages from “digital technology”
Support solutions have created a foundation for businesses to recover quickly after the pandemic is basically under control and the economy has entered a new normal state.
As an enterprise with more than 10 years of experience in carrying out customs procedures at Phu My Customs Branch, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu, Head of the Import-Export Unit of Long Phu Logistics Company, said the company has always received the support of customs officers. Currently, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province alone, Long Phu Company carries out procedures for more than 30 businesses with an average of about 1,500 declarations per month. Motivated by the active coordination and support from the customs branch, there are almost no problems. In particular, when the company registers to carry out procedures for a new enterprise or a new product, the customs officers always provide specific and clear instructions. Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Phu My Customs Branch has also established contact groups to exchange documents and new policies, helping the customs clearance of goods always take place smoothly and quickly.
At the end of May, Vung Tau Port Customs Branch also held a Customs - Enterprise conference for oil and gas enterprises. At the conference, the branch provided guidance on legal documents related to the import of goods for oil and gas production and business and received and answered questions from enterprises.
In addition, customs branches have also regularly organized meetings to work and exchange information with shipping lines, warehouses, yards, port operators and logistics service providers to implement coordination plans to promote the efficiency of State management and business performance and minimize congestion in goods circulation.
