Bac Ninh Customs Department signed a coordination plan with Police in 3 provinces that are: Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Director of Bac Ninh Customs Department, the purpose of signing the coordination plan is to create close co-operation between officials and soldiers and promotes the combined strength and collaboration between police forces in the 3 provinces of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, and the Bac Ninh Customs Department in the fight against crime and law violation.

Furthermore, to aid in prompt detection, prevention, investigations and for handing acts of smuggling or illegal transport goods and currencies cross-border; commercial fraud, tax evasion; illegally trading and transporting narcotics; trading and transporting explosive weapons, inflammables and toxins; importing machinery and equipment which are scrap or failing to meet environmental protection standards and other law-breaking acts related to import and export activities and other activities with foreign element in the provinces of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen.

At the same time, coordinating to implement administrative enforcement for recovery of tax arrears and track down taxpayers who have failed to pay tax and have run away from business registration places to appropriate tax evasion.

As known, the content of coordination of Bac Ninh Customs Department with the Police in 3 provinces Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen focused on the following matters: exchange of information, professional documents; coordinate to guide and implement professional measures. To coordinate in detecting, receiving, investigating, handling cases; to coordinate in the work of verification, arrest and mobilizing offenders to give themselves up; to coordinate in the propagation and dissemination of law.

Although being a Customs unit located deep inland and is not a "hot" area for smuggling activities, the operation area of Bac Ninh Customs Department is spread in three provinces: Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen. Hence, this seems like the second guard post after smuggled goods are slipped inland from the northern border gate. Therefore, since the establishment of the Bac Ninh Customs Department, the leaders of the Bac Ninh Customs Department have prioritized the work of fighting against smuggling and trade fraud.

From April of 2013 to now, the Customs Enforcement Unit has cooperated with the police of Bac Ninh province to arrest and handle 26 cases related to smuggling goods, and goods of unknown origin; Handed over case dossiers in accordance with the prescribed functions and competence. Especially, in 2017, the Customs enforcement unit in cooperation with PC47 police of Bac Ninh province arrested a drug case, seized 9 bars of heroin and handed over the subjects and exhibits to PC47 Police of Bac Ninh province for settlement.
