In the month, 13 enterprises re-operated after suspension due to the pandemic and more than 300 enterprises recovered their production (they are no longer affected by the pandemic).

Bui Hung Luan, Head of Import-Export Division, POB HUAT Vietnam Co., Ltd., said due to the impact of the pandemic reducing orders, the company has cut the number of employees in two factories (Binh Duong and Dong Nai) by about 55%, and arranged employees to work only three days per week to maintain production of existing orders. However, the export of indoor furniture to the US, Europe and Japan has improved, the rate of export orders reaches about 50%, while production activities are stable and maintainedunder the way it was. The company is going to call for employees who were let go to return to work and to have a plan to recruit hundreds of employees.

According to Binh Duong statistics, 900 enterprises had orders cancelled, saw a reduction in production volume and a lack of materials and faced difficulties in transport of import and export goods. To support enterprises and minimize the decline in budget revenue, Binh Duong Customs Department has monitored, grasped the operation situation of enterprises, facilitated import and export activities in the province and ensured rapid goods clearance. At two centralized checkpoints, customs clearance is carried out 24/7 at the request by enterprises to help them have enough raw materials to serve production and business in a timely fashion.
