Binh Phuoc Customs cooperates with Cambodian Customs to facilitate trade

The signing ceremony was carried out within the framework of the Cooperation Exchange Conference between Binh Phuoc Customs Department (Vietnam) and the Customs Department of Tbong Khnum and Kratie Province (Cambodia).
For many years, Binh Phuoc Customs Department has consistently actively implemented bilateral cooperation activities in order to maintain, consolidate and strengthen the relationship of mutual assistance in the Customs field, towards the purpose of trade facilitation, especially at the border-gate pairs, Hoa Lu International Border Gate Customs Branch and Trapeang Sre Border Gate Customs in Cambodia; Loc Thinh international border gate Customs Branch and Tonle Cham Customs of Cambodia; Hoang Dieu Customs Branch and Lapake Customs. In addition, strengthen coordination and exchange of information against smuggling, trade fraud and other customs violations to ensure compliance with Customs laws in each country's management area.
Accordingly, periodically conduct meetings and exchange information between the two sides on the situation at the border gate, announce policies on procedures for goods and luggage for export and import, and coordinate in organizing dissemination for residents on both sides. Furthermore, customs of the two countries would continue maintaining the unification of working hours at the border gate from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including public holidays, promptly solving arising problems, and avoiding congestion and backlog of goods and means of transport through the border gate.
With effective coordination between the parties, the trade between the two border gates would be more convenient, and the number of vehicles, people and goods crossing through the gate each year would increase, contributing to economic development. Commodities that account for a high proportion of import and export turnover include granite, rubber latex, bananas, pepper, consumer goods, etc.
In particular, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Customs of the two sides continued to cooperate effectively to jointly solve problems and conditions for goods and means of transport of enterprises of the two countries to be circulated more convenient, residents on both sides of the border could go back and forth between pairs of border gates to visit relatives and receive medical examination and treatment.
Furthermore, promoting those achieved results, Binh Phuoc Customs Department signed a cooperation agreement with the Customs of Tboung Khnum, Kratie and Mundulkiri provinces to continue strengthening the cooperation relationship and exchange of information, thereby creating favorable conditions for customs procedures for import and export goods of border residents and businesses, preventing tax evasion and trade fraud in all forms.
In the future, the Customs of the provinces would join in information cooperation through channels such as fax, email, telegram, Facebook, messenger phone and other communication channels to ensure a quick and accurate exchange of information and find a solution to solve problems and difficulties between the two parties. In addition, participating in the absolute prevention of import and export of prohibited goods under the Agreements the two countries have signed, such as the Basel Accord on preventing transnational smuggling.
Besides that, a branch-level hotline would be established to provide and exchange information for the operation at the border gate and assist in solving problems and difficulties arising during the implementation process. Notably, paying attention to information on drug trafficking, illegal transport of weapons and reactionary documents to contribute to ensuring social order and safety and national security of the two countries.
