Contraband shipment valued more than VND 1 billion at midnight

As a result, Customs authorities discovered 26 categories of goods that were cosmetics, consumer goods and two-wheel motorcycles loaded fully on the truck.

Customs officials said the above goods were shipped from Cambodia to Vietnam, which were mainly cosmetics, medicated oil, and balm oil originating from Thailand. However, through detailed inspection, Customs authorities found some items did not show their origin, including those showing origin from China.

These goods were shipped into Vietnam as Cambodian fresh mangoes. According to An Giang Customs Department, the value of the shipment was estimated at more than VND 1 billion.

Earlier, on May 9, the working group of Tinh Bien Border Gate Customs Branch conducted a patrol in the border area and discovered a truck transporting goods from Cambodia to the gathering area at the border gate. When the driver detected the working group, he left the truck and ran into the night.

An Giang Customs Department is verifying and considering prosecuting criminal cases in accordance with regulations. Some pictures of the contraband shipment:
