Control strictly transit food shipments of contaminated Salmonella Agona

Previously, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) sent a document to the General Department of Vietnam Customs requesting coordinated control of the shipment of food items infected with Salmonella Agona (including CELI MAMA 400g x 12, NEUTRO PROMAT CELI AD 350g x 12 AVEC LACT NEUTRE PROMAT) that are manufactured by the Lactalis Group (France) under the warning of the INFOSAN Secretariat (International Network of Food Safety Authorities).
From the date of receiving notification in 12/12/2017, the INFOSAN Secretariat provided information on a total of 54 shipments of 29 commodities that are at risk of infection from Salmonella Agona.
In order to strictly control the infected shipment, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requests the provincial customs departments to intensify the inspection and supervision of the transit shipments of medical products which are listed above, produced by the Lactalis Group and transported by the Vinh Thinh Trade and Services Company and other companies.
Accordingly, conducting physical inspection of transit shipment declared with the above products at both customs branches from where the transit goods depart, and the customs branches where the transit goods arrive. This is in order to strictly control and comply with the regulations to prevent goods transit activities putting unsafe food into Vietnam for consumption.
