Only in April 2017, the State budget revenues of Customs were estimated at 22,500 billion vnd. Specifically, the turnover of some import commodities with large revenue decreased compared to the previous month, such as: Petroleum products (decreasing 30.6% in volume and 29.5% in value); Mobile phones and accessories (down by 8.2% over the previous month); Computers, electronic products and components (down by 4.6% over the previous month); Machinery, equipment and spare parts (down by 0.2% over the previous month) ...

The turnover of some export commodities with large revenue also declined compared to the previous month: textiles and garments (down by 12% over the previous month); Computers, electronic products and components (down by 20.1% over the previous month); Footwears (down 3.8% over the previous month); Wood and wood products (down by 11.7% over the previous month).

Analysis of imports and exports shows that the total import and export turnover in April 2017 was estimated at $US 32.2 billion, down by 3.9% over the previous month. The total export value was estimated at $US 16.7 billion, down by 3.2% over the same period and the total import value was estimated at $US 17.5 billion, down by 4.6% over the same period.

With the above results, in the first four months of 2017, the total import and export value of Vietnam was estimated at $US125.41 billion, up by 20.1% compared to the same period in 2016. Of which, the total export value was estimated at $US 61.34 billion, up by 15.4% and total import value was estimated at $US 64.07 billion, up by 24.9%.

Some Customs Departments reached good revenues compared to the assigned targets such as Gia Lai - KonTum, Nghe An, Ha Nam Ninh, Quang Ninh, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

A highlight in the performance of Customs in April 2017 was the results of anti-smuggling and trade frauds, from March 16th, 2017 to April 15th, 2017, the entire Customs sector chaired, coordinated, detected and seized a total of 1,034 cases of violation, the value of infringing goods was estimated at over 58 billion vnd and contributed 18,646 billion vnd to the State budget, and the Customs prosecuted 2 cases and transferred 4 cases to other agency.
