Customs collects more than VND30,000 billion in November

Thus, from the beginning of the year to the end of November, the whole customs’ revenue was VND281,389 billion, reaching 83.3% of the estimate and 79.3% of the desired target, falling 11.81% year-on- year.
In November, the Customs handledsome cases of illegal cross-border trafficking and transportation of goods, but these cases were not complicated. Infringing goods mainly were sugar, cigarettes, beer, powdered milk, medicine, cosmetics, new electronic products, poultry, poultry products, and were transported by the smugglers through airports, seaports, post offices, trails and border crossings.
Although there have not been large smuggling cases, illegal trafficking and transportation of drugs is still complicated. In border routes of Dien Bien, Nghe An and Tay Ninh provinces, the illegal cross-border transportation of drugs into Vietnam is still a problemand the tricks of smugglers are sophisticated with a large volume of seized drugs.
In November, the Customs sector handled882 violation cases; the value of infringing goods was estimated at VND275,081 billion; the revenue reached VND6.55 billion, and threecriminal cases were prosecuted.
The total import turnover is estimated at US$49 billion, decreasing 5% month-on-month.
Export turnover is estimated at US$24.8 billion, falling 9% and import turnover is estimated at US$24.2 billion, a slight decline of 0.5%.
With the above estimated results, through November, import and export turnover is estimated at US$489.09 billion, increasing by 3.5% year-on-year.
The total export turnover is estimated at US$254.59 billion, increasing by 5.3% and import turnover is estimated at US$234.5 billion, increasing by 1.5%.
Vietnam's merchandise trade balance in November is estimated to have a surplus of US$600 million. In 11 months, the trade surplus is estimated at nearly US$21 billion, higher than the trade surplus of US$10.76 billion year-on-year.
