Customs earns over VND490 billion in revenues from post clearance audit

.The GDVC has implemented schemes on post clearance audit for cashew nuts and detected two enterprises that committed origin fraud in cashew nut imports; four businesses that are no longer operating at the registered business address and show suspicious signs of sales for domestic consumption; one enterprise that is in the process of working with the Supreme People's Procuracy to consider signs of violation for prosecution.
It has also requested local customs departments to review the cashew imports and exports; assigned some local customs departments to conduct post clearance audit for 34 enterprises, and listed 280 businesses showing signs of risk for local customs departments to make inspection plans.
The post-clearance inspection force is required to clarify suspicious signs of imports and exports of precious gems, metals, and precious gem and metal products.
During information collection, the post-clearance audit force detected many signs of violations, but the force faced difficulties in auditing the customs declarant’s premises due to the pandemic.
In the third quarter, the Customs conducted 422 audits, including 110 audits in customs declarants’ premises and 312 audits at customs office.
The Customs fined VND58.79 billion and earned VND93.69 billion in revenues.
In the first three quarters of the year, Customs implemented 1,307 audits and imposed fines worth VND545.30 billion and collected VND419.78 billion.
