Customs prevents suspicious shipments

Accordingly, the General Department of Customs requested local Customs units to make a list to receive information on stopping transfer of goods to the supervision area. Implement to set-up telephone number, e-mail address and fax number to receive information on stop transfer goods to supervision area of all Customs departments and inform to all Customs departments across the country and the General Department of Customs.

Managers of the Customs Branch at store merchandise are responsible for ensuring the receipt of information about stop transferring goods to the supervision area must be done 24/7 and processed immediately after receiving the information. If goods are taken through the supervision area after receiving information via fax, e-mail and telephone, the manager must take full responsibility for that shipment.

Responsibilities of the Customs Branch that issued a decision to stop taking goods to supervision, are updated on the system to inform the Customs Branch where stored goods are immediately after the promulgation of the decision. At the same time, immediately inform the decision about stop taking goods to supervision area via fax, email, phone to the Customs branch where merchandise is stored.

Meanwhile, the Customs branches where goods are stored are responsible to assign Customs officers to watch the phone, email and fax to receive the announcement about stop transfer goods to supervision area. After that, they have to inform port enterprises by document or the port system and warehouse in order to coordinate for handling the shipment.

The measurement for strengthening the coordination and supervision of goods at the port are aimed to ensure the information of stopped taking goods to the supervision area, is informed quickly, without delay in order to limit the risk of taking advantage of taking goods to supervision area when having the decision for stopping enterprises. Hence, Customs can prevent suspicious shipments.
