Customs sector collects nearly VND55,000 billion to state revenue

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in February, the revenue collection of the whole customs sector reached VND23,656 billion.

In the first two months of the year, the whole sector collected VND54,760 billion, equaling 17.38% of the current appropriation, equaling 16.54% of the target, increasing 7.53% over the same period last year (VND50,924 billion).

In February, the total value of imports and exports of Vietnam was estimated at $42.5 billion, down 22.7% compared to the previous month.

In particular, exports were estimated at $21.5 billion, decreasing by 24.7% and imports at about $21 billion, falling by 20.6%.

However, compared to the same period in 2020, the export value of Vietnam increased by 2.4% and the import value increased by 11.6%.

In February, it was estimated that Vietnam's trade surplus reached $500 million.

The export items with noticeable fluctuations in February were crude oil estimated at 160,000 tonnes, decreasing by 55.4% and the value was $53 million, falling by 65.4% from the previous month.

In the first two months of 2021, the export volume of crude oil was estimated at 519,000 tonnes and valued at $204 million, decreasing by 37.1% in volume and the estimated value decreased by 45.7% over the same period last year.

Ores of all kinds were estimated at 170,000 tonnes, down 22.2% and valued at $5 million, decreasing by 55.6% from the previous month.

In the first two months, it was estimated at 389,000 tonnes and valued at $16 million, decreasing by 13.4% in volume and estimated value falling 45.1% over the same period in 2020.

For import activities, the notable fluctuations were petroleum of all kinds was estimated at 750,000 tonnes, reducing by 12.6% and worth $363 million, declining by 13.4% from the previous month.

In the first two months of the year, it was estimated at 1,609 million tonnes and valued at $781 million, increasing by 18.3% in volume. However, the estimated value decreased by 0.6% compared to the same period in 2020.

Computers, electronic products and components were estimated at $5.2 billion, decreasing by 8.1% from the previous month; import value in two months of 2021 reached $10.9 billion, increasing by 23.9% over the same period in 2020.

Machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts were estimated at $2.9 billion, reducing by 25.9% from the previous month; accumulated in the two months is estimated at $6.8 billion, increasing by 30.8% over the same period of 2020.

Iron and steel of all kinds were estimated at 1 million tonnes, decreasing by 18.2% and valued at $700 million, reducing by 16.8% from the previous month. In the first two months of the year, it was estimated at 2,223 million tonnes, the turnover was estimated at $1,541 billion, increasing by 12.3% in volume and 29.5% in value over the same period in 2020.

CBU cars were estimated at 7,000 units, increasing by 16.1% and valued at $134 million, declining by 36.9% from the previous month.

In the first two months of 2020, the total volume of imported cars was estimated at 15,000 units and valued at $374 million, increasing by 3.3% in volume and 0.2% in value over the same period of 2020.
