Customs sector has put into operation 15 container scanning machines

According to Customs Control and Supervision Department, the Customs sector has put into operation 15 container scanning machines and more than100 scanning machines for luggage and goods at the areas of sea ports, airports and land border gates.
Along with that, 46 camera systems and 10 supervision rooms have been put into operation nationwide, with 28 camera systems serving supervision at gathering points, inspection areas of import-export goods, as well as 18 camera systems monitoring the performance of customs professional activities.
The Customs Control and Supervision Department has advised developing a professional process of control and using electronic seal GPS system for the supervision of goods subjected to customs supervision transporting by container. It is expected to start operating in January 2020.
Besides that, the Customs Control and Supervision Department has completed a survey and determined to invest in equipping the customs surveillance camera system at the Customs Branches of provinces and cities under the direction of Government Office at Official Dispatch No. 6744/VPCP-VI of July 17, 2018.
In 2019, the Customs sector conducted the screening of about 50,000 containers; detecting suspicions with more than 700 containers, of that detecting about 200 violating containers.
