Customs sector strengthens measures of Covid-19 prevention

In the document, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requested its units to stick to the directives, chair and coordinate for implementing many contents stated in the directives of the Ministry of Finance.

In particular, promoting implementation of measures of reforming customs procedures, facilitating quick cargo clearance across borders, especially raw materials, supplies and components for production and essential goods serving the prevention and treatment of Covid-19; strengthen inspection, control and handling for illegal exports or illegal transportation of surgical masks, dry hand sanitisers and medical supplies across borders.

Monitoring exports of equipment, protective gears, clothing, gloves and gloves used in health. Proposing competent authorities to have appropriate management measures if quantity of exported goods increased sharply to ensure demand for disease prevention.

At the same time, coordinating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and units tp continue to ensure cargo clearance and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in the import and export activities; coordinate and support border provinces to facilitate cargo clearance activities.

In particular, in the document, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requested relevant units implement the directives of Ministry of Finance on accelerating the performance, reform and simplification of administrative procedures for subjects affected by the Covid-19 epidemic such as cargo clearance, tax refund and extending tax payment units should alsopromptly correct and strictly handle acts of taking advantage of disease control policies to cause difficulties for enterprises in cargo clearance and import and export activities.

The General Department also directed the units to implement the requirements in the directive, considering not organising periodic inspection in 2020 for enterprises which do not have signs of violations to facilitate enterprises to focus on solving difficulties, maintaining production and business activities; at the same time, do not let businesses take advantage of this policy to violate the law.

Strengthen inspection and strictly handle cases of smuggling, trade fraud and speculation on goods, causing artificial scarcity, counterfeit goods and fake goods in the market, especially essential commodities for epidemic prevention such as face masks, dry hand sanitisers and other medical supplies.

Strengthening control of people entering the country through air border, land and maritime; paying attention on the strict control of entry country via the southwest border.
