Customs’ vehicles performing duties on road routes are entitled to priority

This is one of the new provisions in Clause 52 of Decree 59/2018/ND-CP. Specifically, the Customs’ vehicles performing duties on road routes are entitled to priority in chasing, arresting and inspecting means of transport, smuggled goods, illegal transport of goods across border gates and other urgent tasks in accordance with provisions of the law.
The license, management and use of signaling devices of the Customs’ vehicles are entitled priority in performing duties on road routes and are implemented in accordance with provisions of the law.
Also, Decree 59/2018/ND-CP provides for the Customs’ vehicles to be equipped to prevent and fight against smuggling and illegal transport of goods across border gates on the road routes, sea routes and inland waterways including cars, motorbike, high speed boats, motor boats, canoes and other specialized vehicles installed with beacons, Customs flags, Customs symbols, flares, speakers and horns.

Specifying provisions of the Customs’ vehicles equipped for performing duties on routes to prevent and fight against smuggling and illegal transport of goods across border gates, the Customs’ vehicles performing urgent tasks on the road routes are entitled to priority to create favorable conditions for the Customs enforcement to well perform their assigned tasks.
Thereby, enhancing capacity and efficiency in preventing and fighting against smuggling and illegal transport of goods across border gates and meeting requirements in the new situation.
