The General Department of Vietnam Customs has just requested the Ha Tinh Customs Department to report its operation and at the same time proposed to the Ministry of Finance to dissolve this Customs Branch.

In addition, the General Department of Vietnam Customs also requested the Ha Tinh Customs Department, while waiting for the Ministry of Finance to consider and decide to dissolve the Customs Branch of Cau Treo Border Gate Economic Zone, and decision from the Director of Ha Tinh Customs Department, to mobilize and transfer a number of cadres and civil servants to other units under the Ha Tinh Customs Department.

The Cau Treo International Border Gate Economic Zone was established in accordance with the Prime Minister's Decision 162 / QD-TTg dated 19 October 2007. For State administration of Customs, on 6 April 2010, the Minister of Finance issued Decision No. 725 / QD-BTC to establish the Customs Branch of Cau Treo International Border Gate Economic Zone.

However, the Law on Import-Export Tax No. 107/2016 / QH13 took effect from 1 September 2016, with the provisions in Paragraph 1 Article 4 of the Law, "Non-tariff zone must have geographical boundaries, separating from the outside by hard fences".

Accordingly, Cau Treo international border-gate economic zone no longer meets the conditions for enjoying the non-tariff area and no longer enjoys the tax policies for goods and services as before.

Therefore, the exchange of goods and services between Cau Treo International Border Gate Economic Zone and the inland is no longer an import-export relation. The workload in Cau Treo Border Gate Economic Zone is almost gone.
