Ensure clearance for more than 20,000 import-export declarations per day

Talking with Customs News, Director of Customs IT and Statistics Department Le Duc Thanh said implementing Directive 17 of the Hanoi People's Committee and the direction of the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC), the unit has arranged a maximum of 40% of the staff to work at the headquarters.
“The plans were issued and implemented from a few weeks ago, plus the experience from 2020, so the reduction of the number of customs officials following the spirit of Directive 17 of Hanoi City and direction of the leaders of GDVC during social distancing in order to avoid causing interruption on the operation of the system and cargo clearance of the businesses. At the same time, the IT systems serving the direction and administration of the leaders of GDVC, the operation of departments and local customs departments are guaranteed by the unit,” Thanh said.
According to the leader of the Customs IT Management and Operation Centre, on average, the VNACCS/VCIS system clears about 20,000 to 25,000 import and export declarations every day, excluding non-commercial declarations.
“Besides the system operation unit, the Help Desk unit also tried its best to overcome difficulties to receive, advise and answer problems for businesses, people and the local customs unit. On average, about 350 problems were received via email and phone every day. Most problems were related to implementing administrative procedures on the National Single Window Portal,” the leader of the Centre said.
