The above information was notified to the Customs Department of Hai Phong and the functional offices under the General Department, by the Office of the General Department of Customs on October 19,2016.

The Deputy Director General, Vu Ngoc Anh, said: The research on expanding the supervising collaboration in the entire area of Customs supervision at Hai Phong port area must ensure the principle of strict control, being able to managethe information of goods going in and out andstoring at ports; not giving rise to costs for businesses; not extending the time for Customs clearance; not creating more difficult and complicated barriers than the current procedures.

The construction of procedures and the IT system must ensure compliance with the provisions of the Law on Customs and the guideline documents, unification and connection with the existing IT systems of the Sector (e-Manifest, VNACCS, etc.), and the ability to expand the application and deployment in the seaports system of the country.

On October 19 2016, talking to a reporter of Customs News, a leader of the IT Division (the Customs Department of Hai Phong) said: Following the instruction of the General Department of Customs, the Customs Department of Hai Phong has notified businesses of the preparation of technology infrastructure, especially in IT, and human resource, etc. At the end of 2015, the Customs Department of Hai Phong piloted the plan in the first unit which is Nam Hai Dinh Vu port JSC. So far, the Customs Department of Hai Phong has connected to 9 port businesses in the province.

Speaking at the Online progress conference on the work of the 3rd quarter and the task of the 4th quarter of 2016, organized by the General Department of Customs on October 11th, the Head of Hai Phong Customs Department, Mr. Nguyen Tien Loc said: Currently, the Customs Department of Hai Phong has conducted research on the IT infrastructure of all remaining port businesses in the province. On the expected date of November 15 2016, the Customs Department of Hai Phong and businesses are going to be unanimous in implementing policy and procedure, execute the connecting activities and coordinate supervision for all remaining businesses on November 30th, 2016.

According to the Head of Hai Phong Customs Department, coordination of supervision for all port businesses in the province is an important solution to create favorable conditions for import-export activities via Hai Phong port area. After the benefits of this activity were publicized by Customs offices, businesses have actively coordinated to implement.

The leader of the IT Division (Hai Phong Customs Department) added: Following the instruction of the leaders of Hai Phong Customs Department, the division is actively perfecting the progress of supervision and the IT system to implement the expansion in time.
