Accordingly, on the first day of re-opening, Lang Son Customs authorities at the above border gates conducted customs clearance for nearly 150 trucks carrying export goods to China, of which agricultural products reached 2,700 tons.

Speaking to Customs News, Vice Head of the Management Board of Dong Dang-Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy said from January, China resumed import and export activities at the five border gates with Lang Son province after the suspension for the Lunar New Year holiday.

Import and export activities at the above border gates have been smooth and facilitated. Especially exports to China in the first days after the Tet are higher than imports to Vietnam, said Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy.

He also said that trade activities, especially the export of agricultural products through Lang Son border gates this year, are earlier than in previous years, showing China’s increasing demand after the pandemic, creating positive growth momentum for exports in 2023.

From January 24 to 28, Lang Son Customs conducted customs clearance for 1,162 trucks carrying import and export goods. Of which there were 128 trucks of imported goods while the number of trucks carrying exported goods accounted for 882, mainly Vietnamese agricultural products, accounting for 783 trucks, weighing 18,000 tons. Tan Thanh Customs Branch alone completed customs clearance for 653 trucks carrying 14,580 tons of exported agricultural products.

Lang Son Customs said, following the direction of the General Department of Customs on providing maximum support to import and export activities during the Lunar New Year 2023 holiday, the department received online dossiers and electronic documents to conduct online customs clearance and paper-less procedures for enterprises. When the imported and exported goods have gone through customs clearance, the enterprise may come to the border gate to receive goods.

Exported goods to China in the first days of 2023 are diversified, mainly dragonfruit, mango, jackfruit, banana, watermelon, rambutan, and durian.

According to Deputy Manager of Huu Nghi International Border Gate Customs Branch, to maximize convenience to customs clearance activity during the Tet holiday, the unit arranged customs officers to work 24 hours per day to receive and handle customs procedures for imported and exported goods. In addition, the unit worked with other authorities at the border gate to ensure fast customs clearance for enterprises.
