GDVC sets target on tax debt collection

Accordingly, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has set target on collecting and handling outstanding debts, including 100% of recoverable debts and 100% of debts of administrative violation fines as of December 31, 2020 of provincial and municipal customs departments and Post-clearance audit.
Specifically, HCM City is assigned a target on collecting and handling outstanding debts of VND1,041 billion, Lao Cai of VND311.6 billion, Bac Ninh of over VND97.3 billion, Post Clearance Audit of over VND32.8 billion, Quang Ngai Customs Department of over VND26 billion, Ha Noi Customs Department of over VND25.7 billion, Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department of over VND21.8 billion, Khanh Hoa Customs Department of over VND17.7 billion, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Customs Department of over VND 16.2 billion, Quang Ninh Customs Department of over VND9.7 billion, Hai Phong Customs Department and Dong Thap Customs Department of over VND5.4 billion, Lang Son Customs Department of over VND5.3 billion, Nghe An Customs Department of over VND4.4 billion, Da Nang Customs Department of over VND 4.8 billion, Ha Giang Customs Department of over VND3 billion, Dong Nai Customs Department of over VND2.5 billion, Thua Thien Hue Customs Department of over VND1.5 billion, An Giang Customs Department of over VND1.2 billion.
Provincial and municipal customs departments that do not have targets on collecting and handling outstanding debts will continue to apply coercive measures to monitor, manage and propose the handling of bad debts at these departments.
The GDVC has directed directors of provincial and municipal customs departments and the director of the Post-Clearance Audit Department to perform and prevent new tax debts arising in 2021, provide solutions on tax debt collection and apply coercive measures when new debts arise.
At the same time, the directors of these departments are required to take measures to collect and handle tax debts arising in inspection and audit.
In addition, the GDVC has asked directors of Import and Export Duty Department, Personnel and Organization Department to request municipal and provincial customs departments, and the Post-clearance Audit Customs Department to collect and handle outstanding tax debts and propose the reward and discipline of departments in the performance of assigned tasks.
