Ha Noi Customs will hit desired revenue target

Ha Noi Customs Department is assigned to manage Ha Noi and some areas such as Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, and Yen Bai.

The State revenue target assigned to Ha Noi Customs Department in 2020 is VND 23,300 billion, of which the revenue target in Ha Noi VND 14,800 billion.

Currently, it is nearly amonth to end 2020; the department has collected VND 16,000 billion or 87% of the plan.

According to Ha Noi Customs Department’s report, in the last month of the year, the department will strive to perform solutions on revenue collection under the direction of the Ministry of Finance, the city and the GDVC, and the department’s revenue will reach 96% of the target.

At the working session of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance with the Standing Party Committee of Ha Noi City, GDVC’s Director General Nguyen Van Can said in 2020, Ha Noi Customs Department will achieve VND 18,400 billion of the desired revenue goal.

According to the GDVC’s Director General, this assessment stems from launching ICD Long Bien.

ICD Long Bien has a total area of ​​120,000 m2, and the area of warehouse systems is 50,000 m2 with full functions of a modern inland container depot. This depot is setto be a transit place for domestic goods and to perform services related to cargo at destination port, goods in border-gate transfer andcontainer yard service for containers including loaded containers, empty containers and reefer containers.

ICD Long Bien is also the place for loading and unloading containers, packing and taking goods at the yard, consolidating goods, repairing and cleaning containers; providing renting services of independent warehouses, general warehouses, cool warehouses, cold storage, bonded warehouses, CFS warehouses, and is a centralized inspection and supervision place for imported and exported goods.

To further facilitate, Director General Nguyen Van Can also expressed the GDVC’s agreement with the proposal of Hanoi to develop and expand the Soc Son industrial park, close tothe airport in the near future. Accordingly, building warehouses for logistics activities, including bonded warehouses andcold storage.

Regarding anti-smuggling and trade fraud activities, as a standing office of the National Steering Committee 389, Director General Nguyen Van Can said Hanoi Customs Department has made great efforts in 2020.

The Customs forces tacklenearly 1,000 cases and imposed administrative fines of VND 38 billion.

Notably, the fight against drugs, mainly via express delivery at the airport, has achieved many positive results.

In 2020, Ha Noi Customs Department prosecuted some criminal cases, proposed and worked with Ha Noi City Police to expand the fight to other areas andseized many drug cases transported via express delivery to Nam Dinh, Ha Tinh, and other provinces.

Director General Nguyen Van Can proposed Ha Noi Customs Department continue to facilitate goods brought to ICDs in the area to promote trade.

At the same time, in the context that the whole country is strongly preventing the Covid-19 pandemic, units should be very vigilant andstrengthen management of import and export activities in the area to limit risks and promptly detect serious offense like the case of three containers of medical gloves that have just been discovered in HCM city.
