Ha Tinh Customs launches solutions to improve cross-border trade index

VCN – To improve the rank of the cross-border trade index of Vietnam in 2020-2021, Ha Tinh Customs Department is implementing solutions to promote import-export activities at the border.

According to Ha Tinh Customs Department, in the first quarter, the unit has strengthened the dissemination, instructions and support on tax payment 24/7 for enterprises. The statistics showed that, in the first quarter, the amount of tax collected via the electronic method of the whole Customs achieved more than VND2,800 billion, equivalent to 30% of current appropriation, an increase of 76.8% over the same period in 2021.

To achieve this result, the unit frequently made risk analysis and assessment for enterprises operating in the area; communicating, supporting and encouraging enterprises to voluntarily comply with regulations as well as facilitating enterprises in import-export activities.

In addition, the unit smoothly operates the information technology (IT) systems of the Customs sector, the VASSCM system at the seaport; deploying an online public service system for administrative procedures arising at the unit, and continuing to reform administrative procedures and customs modernization.

In order to promote support activities in the implementation of import and export procedures for businesses, the unit continues to maintain solutions to both ensure anti-pandemic work, and cargo clearance activities, avoiding congestion at the border gate. Furthermore, actively arranging customs officers to perform tasks, ensure effective customs management, smooth cargo clearance, and facilitate import and export activities.

Focusing on promoting contact and information exchange with businesses, grasping difficulties and obstacles in the process of carrying out customs procedures; maintaining close coordination with competent management units in the area: Economic Zone Authority, Border Guard, Police, Tax, Quarantine, Health, to assess the impact on import and export operations, as well as develop appropriate support solutions.

In addition, the unit is also actively improving and effectively using human resources. In particular, regularly reviewing the implementation at all stages of procedures; assigning customs officers to check dossiers, conducting physical inspections for goods in accordance with the requirements of the capacity and the results of the assessment of capacity based on the job position of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Strengthening training to improve the capacity of customs officers at professional stages. In particular, focusing on in-depth content related to the smart customs model in order to meet the requirements of the task in the next period.
