Hai Phong Customs upgrade automatic customs management system

Hai Phong Customs Department is a leading unit in the sector that implements automatic customs management (piloted since 15/8/2017, and officially operated from 11/12/2017)

According to updated information from Customs IT and Statistics Department, by the end of May of 2018, Hai Phong Customs Department has deployed at 4 Customs Branches participating with 53 warehouses and port enterprises.

The system has settled 2.35 million containers on entry, 2.24 million containers on exit, 20.6 million shipments on entry and 19.7 million shipments on exit.

Besides that, in recent times, Hai Phong Customs Department has also deployed a series of missions relating to the work of customs supervision such as: directing the units to control the procedures for scrap and color coated steel; guiding the units to unify the implementation in compliance with regulations on customs procedures, and procedures for import of scrap materials for production; warning of wrongdoing in taking back goods for preservation; the use of quarantine certificates and assessment certificates for importing goods illegally.

At the same time, issuing the procedures for checking and supervising foreign exchange activities in the exit areas at Cat Bi International Airport of the Song Viet Joint Stock Company branch in Hai Phong, and put the foreign currency counter in the entry area of Viet Song Joint Stock Company in Hai Phong into operation.

In addition, the Department actively reviews the activities of warehouses, yards and locations in accordance with Decree 68/2016/ND-CP and Circular 84/2017/TT-BTC. Then, reports to General Department of Vietnam Customs to unify the work of granting operation licenses of warehouses in order to ensure the state management in customs field.

Moreover, reviewing the implementation of Circular No. 12/2015/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance dated 30/1/2015, to propose for amending and supplementing to this Circular for facilitating to business activities of customs brokers, and at the same time, satisfying the requirements on State management of customs field for this activity.
