According to General Department of Vietnam Customs, from the beginning of the year to the end of June 15, the whole sector handled procedures for 6.82 million import and export declarations, up by 20.6% over the same period in 2020.

Of which, the number of export declarations reached 3.59 million declarations, rising by 24.2% and imports reached 3.23 million declarations, up by 16.9%.

The number of firms participating in import and export from the beginning of the year to the end of June 15 was 79,600 enterprises, growing by 5.4% over the same period last year.

Among the 10 customs departments of provinces and cities with the highest import-export value (from the beginning of the year to the end of June 15), Bac Ninh Customs Department led with $64.2 billion, up 28% over the same period last year.

The reason Bac Ninh Customs recently surpassed HCM City Customs to lead the country in terms of turnover was that the management area (Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang) has many factories in the production chain of Samsung Group- enterprises with the largest scale of import and export turnover in the country. On the other hand, in the first months of the year, many FDI enterprises also chose to invest in three localities managed by Bac Ninh Customs, so import and export turnover increased. Up to now, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang have all achieved export-import turnover of more than $10 billion.

In addition, there are five customs departments with a turnover of $10 billion or more: HCM City Customs Department reached $58 billion, up 18%; Hai Phong Customs Department hit $39.6 billion, rising by 37%; Binh Duong Customs Department reached $24.2 billion, jumping by 47%; Hanoi Customs Department reached $20.9 billion, increasing by 36%; Dong Nai Customs Department reached $17.9 billion USD, up 40%

The remaining units in the top 10 are Ba Ria-Vung Tau Customs Department with $9.9 billion, up by 55%; Long An Customs Department reached $7.3 billion, climbing by 39%; Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department reached $6.4 billion, growing by 31%; and Quang Ninh Customs Department reached $4.8 billion, rising by 32%.
